yes, i am awake again at 2:30am. ::sigh::

my building has all sorts of odd stuff going on in it right now. the elevator's broken again, which means my apartment's getting a bit ripe from the smell of my trash and my laundry (the laundry room and trash room are 10 flights down)... hopefully it'll be fixed tomorrow. and we have a few new tenants, and one of them is a pacer. meaning, someone over the past couple of weeks has been pacing up and down the hallway on my floor. but it's not just walking back and forth... it's SLOW walking. really slow. like the pace you walk when you're walking down the aisle to get married. and because it's an old building, the floor is creaky and the halls are echo-y, so it makes it sound even creepier. i'll be sitting in my living room, and through the front door i'll hear, clomp... clomp... clomp... eek. and whoever it is, i swear to god the other night they were whispering to themselves as they paced. i couldn't hear what was being said, but there was definitely whispering. and we have no peepholes in our doors, so i can't see who it is.

tonight, around 1am, i was fast asleep... and all of a sudden, in my dream state, i heard my mother's voice in my ear saying urgently, "jenn, get UP." i startled awake in the darkness, and then i heard that clomp... clomp... clomp... out in the hall again. ::shudder:: god, it's like a bad movie.

i need sleep! i'm bringing a friend to her colonoscopy today (whee! i started a trend!), and need to be at her apartment by 7am. i took the rest of the day as a vacation day, and so after i bring her home i'm going to have lunch on newbury street and then get a haircut and massage. i need the break, it's been a stressful last couple of weeks.

hopefully the clomping won't start again as i sack out. i feel like i'm living in an episode of "law & order".

...when your masseuse says in her irish brogue, "jaysus, your back is a MESS." eek. poor girl practically had to take a jackhammer to my muscles this afternoon. but, on the up-side, she told me that my skin was amazingly soft. ::preen::

S's colonoscopy took way longer than planned. she has a bunch of health issues, so she tends to be sensitive to the sedative they give you for the procedure. she was supposed to be ready to go home by 9am, instead it was close to 11 because she couldn't wake up enough to leave. i read at least 6 magazines while i waited... i stopped counting after 5.

the elevator in my building is still broken. grrrrrr. the climb up to my apartment completely undid my massage. i guess i'll just need another one soon. ::grin::
