tv turn-off, day 3
Aug. 24th, 2004 04:30 pmgetting a bit easier. mornings are still tough, because i like watching the morning news while i do my makeup. (plus the air conditioner is in that room!) but the weekdays have been more bearable. we'll see how i do saturday, when i have an entire day and night to fill.
went dancing last night. it was a lot of fun, i'm so glad i went... but wow, was i out of practice. my feet were all over the place, and it took most of the dance lesson for me to get back into form. there were a lot of new faces (good, 'cause the monday dances had been kinda dead), and all the regular old ones. a couple of people actually remembered that the last time i'd been out dancing, was the night the ex was packing for his move... it was sweet that they remembered and wanted to know if things were okay. and of course, "flirty boy" was there, and in rare form... i just took all of his comments with a grain of salt, and "tsk-tsk"ed him a lot. ::chortle::
today was uneventful. worked, came home and napped for a bit (i've needed to do that a lot lately, wonder why?), now i'm getting ready to go out dancing again. got to chat with peter for a bit as well, which was a nice surprise... an even nicer surprise was seeing Ceri playing on his lap as we said hi. it'll be a long time before i meet the kids in person (we both agreed that it should be a good chunk of time before that happens), so it was fun to at least see her in action on the cam. she's a riot, and looks sooo much like him. ::grin::
well, off to make myself look presentable...

Aug. 24th, 2004 11:24 pmmaybe it's because i just downed a snack-sized bag of Smartfood popcorn... but i just had this sudden morbid curiosity about other people's eating habits. specifically, is there anything you used to eat (or, heck, still eat now) that you think of and go, "eew"? do tell.
when i was in college, a girlfriend of mine was a grad student and lived off-campus, and we'd have dinner nights at her place. we'd boil a box of pasta, and when it was cooked we'd stir in all of the following:
* a can of condensed cream of mushroom soup
* an entire brick of white cheddar cheese, shredded
* several pounds of fried sausage.
and we'd eat the whole thing. ::heave:: my arteries are clogging just from the memory.
