get the party started!
Jul. 25th, 2004 05:41 pmlast night was a perfect start to my new life. one of my girlfriends, L, and i got dressed up and went out for cocktails and tapas. there's this fantastic place in the south end called the Red Fez, and it's a sort of sexy, romantic candlelit place with great food and even greater cocktails. it was a total girly night... we sat there over piles of tapas, drinking pomegranate martinis and talking about sex, boys, and clothes. we watched the beautiful people come and go, and made friends with some of the cool gay boys in the bar. it was perfect.
today was the start of the apartment overhaul. i went out and got a few little redecorate-y things at target (LOVE that store), then in the afternoon i took a deep financial breath and headed over to the local la-z-boy store to order new living room furniture. it was so exciting... there's something about buying real furniture ("real" meaning not something you put together yourself) that's so adult and empowering. the sales woman wasn't sure what to make of me... basically, i'd spent so much time researching my options online (their sofa styles, fabrics, etc.), i knew exactly what i wanted before i walked in the store. everyone around me was hemming and hawing with their salespeople, whining that they weren't sure what to choose... i, on the other hand, knew the todd oldham furniture line better than even the saleswoman, which was a bit disconcerting for her. but, 1/2 hour later, i became the proud owner of a totally sexy-bitch sofa and loveseat in coordinating shiny blue fabrics. *drool* now i just have to wait the 8 weeks until they get delivered.
i don't want to work tomorrow. after being out for 3 medical days, it's going to be so hard to go back... ugh. plus the DNC starts this week, which means that boston is going to SUCK traffic-wise. *sigh*.
