...and so are my allergies. but i don't care. the apartment was so empty without them yesterday, i almost cried. they were so thrilled when i brought them back from the boarder last night... monkey didn't know whether to yell at me for leaving, or be happy, so she did both ("YOWpurrpurrpurr YOWpurrpurrpurr...") and angus just walked around and talked to all the furniture, sounding like a demented old man: "meh meh meh meh..." i woke up this morning with very little sleep under my belt, and a ton of cat hair on my face, because they both snuggled around me all night and smooched me non-stop. *grin* so i'm exhausted this morning, but happy.

the ex is definitely moving out this weekend. i'm trying to figure out what i should do to "celebrate". not that i'm thrilled he's going, i told him he could stay as a roommate because we still get along... but i feel like i need to do something to mark the true beginning of the next chapter in my life. another night of "sex and the city" DVDs and ice cream? martini night with the girls? hm.

sorry, had to throw in a "fight club" reference there. *grin*

so, today started day 1 of my colonoscopy prep. apparently, one day isn't fun enough, so they drag it out over 4 days to add to the excitement. according to the instructions i'd been given, there were 2 things i had to do today:

1. grocery shopping - i had to buy the following:

2 bottles of fleet's phospho-soda (this is a laxative you mix in Sprite and drink)
1 box of Dulcolax tablets (another laxative!!! ooh, goody!)
3 large bottles of sprite or gatorade
jell-o, any kind that doesn't have red, pink, or purple dye (i think that leaves "lime")
chicken and beef boullion broth

these are for my liquid diet and laxative-fest, 24 hours before the procedure. you can be sure i'll be posting a nasty bitch session about this on wednesday.

2. restricted diet - for the next 3 days, i am to avoid the following foods (this is only a partial list):
anything with lactose in it
oatmeal
brown rice
corn bread
any carb (e.g. bread) made with whole grains, seeds, etc.
any raw fruit
all raw veggies
cooked veggies that are fibrous (asparagus, corn, peas, spinach, etc.)
lentils or other beans
pepper

okay. basically, they are telling me to cut out EVERYTHING I USUALLY EAT. seriously. pretty much, for the next 3 days, i'll be eating eggs in the morning, a white-bread sandwich without condiments or veggies at lunch, and some white rice with overcooked carrots and meat in the evening. *barf* i am going to be a royal bitch by thursday morning. look out.
