*rant alert*!
Dec. 10th, 2003 08:44 pmthings that pissed me off today:
* standing in line at the doctor's today, i became acutely aware of how much people let themselves go. now, i'm not the perfect specimen of health, but i shower daily... i brush my teeth... etc. etc. but there was a guy behind me in line whose breath was so bad, i smelled it even though he was BEHIND ME... not only that, i could actually TASTE it... you know, when you smell something so strong, you can actually taste it a bit in your mouth? that was this guy's breath. from BEHIND me, not even facing me. ick.
* why is it that, when i'm stopped at a light that's just turning green, people cross the street against the light? do they have a deathwish? and today was the best... it was a severely overweight woman with a LIMP... if there was anyone who would not cross in time, it was her... yet she saw the "do not walk" sign and went anyway. the best is the people who rush with that quick little skippy walk to get into the street, then slow down once they're crossing in front of you and just walk. hi, I HAVE A GREEN LIGHT. YOU ARE NOT IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO HOLD UP TRAFFIC. get over yourself.
* city drivers blow. i'm sure i have my bad days, but i have never seen such aggressive drivers in my life as the ones in the city. today, on the highway, i had to slam on my brakes (on an icy road) for a big-assed truck who careened into my lane without even looking to see if he could merge. i honked at him, and he had the nerve to scream at ME and give ME the finger out the window!!! check your driver's ed manual, asshole... merging into highway traffic means that you SLOW DOWN to see if the coast is clear... if there is traffic coming, you WAIT. and the amazing thing is, cops let this stuff happen. every week on the TV is news about a crackdown on aggressive driving... my ass. people violate traffic laws right in front of the cops (i've seen it a million times!), and they just sit there. helloooooo, state police... you can't crack down on aggressive driving unless you actually STOP the perpetrators and FINE them...
