farewell *sigh*...
Nov. 20th, 2005 07:57 amthe movers'll be here in a half hour. ugh. packing yesterday took a bit longer than i thought, but it was probably a good thing... once you're fully packed, it's a very lonely feeling. the cable box is turned in so there's no tv to distract you, all of your belongings are in boxes, and you're too exhausted to go out and do anything. so prolonging the packing meant i was able to go to bed pretty soon after i was done.
i took a break last night to have my last (resident) dinner in the square. i decided on dragon garden... they've made a million deliveries to me over the last few years, and the people there are just so nice. plus they make the best crab rangoons ever, and there are no crab rangoons in philly (*weep*). so i had a nice leisurely dinner there in the restaurant, chatted with nthe staff, read a couple of the local free rags (the weekly dig... another thing i'll miss), then came back and took a long hot soak for my back and crashed around 9. couldn't sleep, even though i was tired... so i got back up and went online, and priced out some entertainment centers for the new place. they're all really ugly, or really expensive. darnit.
so, here i sit, amidst all my boxes of crap, about to leave the best apartment i've ever had. the apartment i found to live with J2, and that i decided to keep after he moved out a year later. the place where monkey spent her last years, where we cuddled together the morning before she passed away. my first "city" dwelling... walking distance from a vibrant social scene and the subway to take me into one of my favorite cities in the world. i had a pretty good cry this morning, thinking of what i'm leaving behind. i know things'll be fine in philly, but it's just not the same... living in davis square was just so... me.
in 8 hours i'll be unpacking my new life. eek.

Besides, you're a whole 45 minutes closer now... it'll only take me six hours and thirty-eight minutes, instead of seven hours and twenty-four minutes to get to you! :D
