swingchickieseriously, deciding to throw a huge bash for my birthday is the best thing i could have done for myself right now. on so many levels.
i am amazed at how lovely my friends, especially my work ones, have been in their replies to me... everything from "you're going be 35???? i thought you were in your 20s!!!!" to "only you would think up such a cool party idea!" to "wow, i'm flattered you're inviting me" and "you GO girl, for throwing your own party!" i've been on an emotional high all day, hearing all of these nice messages from people.
plus, having this to focus on is a great kick in the pants for me. things have been so mundane lately, with work and even with all of the cat illness stuff. it's fantastic to have something positive to direct my energy towards... i've actually become more focused and efficient at work as a side effect from it. and i've always wanted to throw a huge bash for as many of my friends as possible, so in a way i'm making a little personal dream come true!
the planning has been a blast... so many options to consider! i have some awesome ideas for the cake and party favors and all... i just have to see how many people are coming, so that i know what i can afford. from verbal yes's, i may have upwards of 75 people there (whee!).
why oh why does it have to be a month away...
