the usual randomness
Sep. 11th, 2005 09:19 pmah, the weekend is winding down. and so is the summer. i went to the grocery store at 9 this morning, and it was actually *cold*. eek. shovelling 3 feet of snow isn't far away...
got a bunch of healthy food for the week. it's so amazing, i've been back on my healthy eating thing for only 4 days and already i can feel a difference. i'm going to better about cooking meals at home... first task is to find a good recipe for a mushroom pasta sauce like they have at bertolini's. that'll make my week.
last night D and i went to a party, a friend of his turned 30 and invited all these work people. i only knew one couple, but everyone was very nice. the host and hostess had a great house, it looked sort of like a converted barn/farmhousey place. the decor reminded me of my past mensa meetings in people's homes... celtic tapestries and lots of masks on the walls, lots of purple, definitely a hold-crystals-and-pray-to-the-goddess type vibe. but in a cool grown-up house. and they were much cooler than most mensans i know. *grin* the hostess and some of the other gals there invited me to take a belly dance class with them... which would have been lots of fun, but it's on a monday night, which is my only free weeknight now. darnit. i'll have to wait a few months until i start my transformation into shakira...
the rest of the weekend was low-key. reading, napping, errands. i have a fun idea for something to sell on ebay, i have to play around and make a few before i decide... i'll post here to get feedback later in the week.
