hurricane aftermath

the unbearable sadness from hurricane katrina continues... and now, all i can think about is everyone's pets. my heart is breaking. all those poor cats and dogs that had to be abandoned... and that poor boy who had his dog with him, and they made him leave it chained to the side of the highway when he got evacuated... god. it's awful enough that so many people have lost their homes and loved ones, to then add the horror of all those poor lost or dead animals.

i can't stop hugging my cats.

I totally know what you mean...I mean, people's lives come first, but I've read that there are tens of thousands of pets either without homes now, or dead. I've heard that many are being shipped to the Boston area though, I'm thinking of finally adopting a dog now. I believe they might be coming into the MSPCA.

This's probably going to break your heart even more, but there's a link on http://www.cnn.com in the top gray box, the Gallery called "Best friends in need." Oh my God. Those pictures brought tears to my eyes. People need to realize that these animals had once brought joy to those who owned them, and they deserve help as well.
