so, i'm feeling very part of the "in crowd"... in that i got an e-mail from a california gallery, offering me the opportunity to purchase one of shag's new works. he has a huge showing coming up at 2 galleries starting this week... the one gallery has a bunch of paintings that take place in the daytime, and the other has paintings of the same locations, at night, with something different going on. incredibly cool idea. of course, i'd love to get two matching day and night ones, but considering that the cheapest painting is going for $7000 (*choke*), i think i'm sticking to signed prints for a while.
dammit, the one i really love is $15,000. i need to win the lottery to feed my art addiction.
in other news, a neighbor pissed me off this morning. there's an election today for a state senate seat, and about 2 weeks ago a guy in my building knocked on my door to campiagn for someone. i was very polite to him, but i was a bit floored that he would have the balls to go door-to-door in the building. so this morning, i open my apatrment door and step into the hallway... and there's a hand-written post-it note on my door, reminding me to vote for his candidate. i looked down the hall, and a hand-written note was on EVERY FREAKING DOOR. argh. then i got an e-mail this afternoon from someone i know through dancing, who's hella cool... but the e-mail was ultra-religious. eek. and so now i'm annoyed again. i just want people to leave me alone and not force their beliefs or politics or anything on me.
