this has been such a nice weekend so far. really, really nice. :) the only thing that would make it better is if the bloating and puffiness (yes, i'm still retaining water for some freak reason) would go away. but, meh.

friday night D and i went to the tom jones concert at the pavilion. it was... FREAKIN' PHENOMENAL. yes, his voice is still fantastic, and his band completely rocked. but the best entertainment was from the audience. every time he shook his hips or did some sort of pelvic thrust, the place went absolutely NUTS and D and i had to force ourselves to not wet our pants from laughing. *chuckle* tom would barely move a hip, and shoot the crowd a look, and there would be this deafening "eeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!" there wasn't as much panty-throwing as i expected, but there was still some. the woman down the row from us had hers all set in a plastic bag, and i have no idea how she thought she was getting them onstage considering we were about 5,000 rows back. although there was one middle-aged woman who managed to do it... at one point, she came charging down the aisle from behind us, raced past security, helicoptering this pair of white granny panties over her head as she ran. i lost sight of her as she dove into the crowd near the stage, but i'm hoping she got 'em up there. :) great selection of songs too... "what's new pussycat": awesome. "delilah": 7,000-person singalong. "sexbomb": one of my fave songs, i wigged out. "it's not unusual": the whole place devolved into absolute mayhem. what a blast... i left there buzzied from a coupla frozen margaritas, and exhausted by all the glorious cheesiness. oh, and the proud owner of a new black t-shirt with "sexbomb" written across it in glitter. *grin*

yesterday D and i hung out locally. the annual arts festival was in the square, so we walked the 2 blocks in (god, i love living here) and checked out some live music and ate nummy food and browsed all the homemade t-shirts and jewelry and crafty stuff. oh, and ran into a bunch of swing dancers i haven't seen in a million years, which was really nice. later on last night, after roasting in my stifling apartment, we went to see "the fantastic four" to scam some AC and then came back and taste-tested some gourmet chocolate before i passed out from exhaustion.

today's "charlie and the chocolate factory" with the ex and his friends. it'll be D's first time meeting him. hrm. and somewhere in there i need to get some work done... oh, and go shopping. my meeting in 2 weeks has me in a quandary -- usually dress code is business casual, this time it's "resort casual". huh? i don't own anything even remotely resort-casual... i have suits for work, i wear pj's when i'm home (yes, all the time), and i have some sparkly stuff for dancing. so i have to hit tjmaxx for some stuff that's casual but work-appropriate. or maybe j-jill, all their stuff is in that vein and it fits me pretty well. dammit.
