i want THIS. very badly.

it's 30 miles from my potential new office (which probably means an hour commute), and i'd have to pay a 5% local tax for living in the city (which would be hundreds and hundreds of dollars). but i still want it. it is in the middle of EVERYTHING in the city and sosososoooo "me". ACK. please give me reasons to NOT look at this place, because i am feeling really impulse-y right now.

I'd be tempted, too. The place looks amazing.

My ex-girlfriend moved to Philly and I remember visiting her there and having a total case of rent envy. Compared to New York, that city was so darn affordable!

i know, boston's nuts too. i'm paying $1400 for a 2-bedroom (which is a bargain here), and i'm not even in the city. the problem is, with the philly wage tax, that $1100 loft would actually be like $1500-1600. eek.

but it's preeeeeetty.

er... when we come visit you, we'll spend the whole time watching Teddy to make sure he doesn't fall out the windows, instead of yakking it up the way we ought.

ok, so I don't buy it either... but I tried!

What an awesome place!

An hour is an awfully long commute. That would suck.

but would the stunning beauty of the apartment make you more likely to come visit? *entice, entice*

why yes, yes it would.

But the only enticement we really need is YOU, baby... no matter where you live.

Oh, I didn't notice the part about an hour commute. Life is too short to spend 2 hours commuting every day. This time, I'm serious. Quality of life goes up significantly for every minute less you spend in a car.

you're right... not to mention driving an hour home from work, and then having to find parking on the street (missed that one before). dammit, why can't there be places like that in the 'burbs...
