swingchickie | soooooo tired.

bad day with monkey yesterday. she started going downhill -- lethargic all day, vomiting brown watery stuff, refusing food. i ended up rushing her to the ER in the early evening to get looked at, because i was getting really worried. she checked out okay, the ER vet thought her antibiotic was just making her tummy upset and so she was feeling icky... so she sent me home with some canned food and instructions to keep a close eye on her. a few hours later, i got some food into her and then went to give her her medication... and all hell broke loose. she completely flipped out... bit me, bit D as he tried to help me hold her, screamed, thrashed, bit down on one of the meds and started choking on it, and then started foaming at the mouth. she darted under a chair, and i watched her sit there, hunched and shaking, wild-eyed and foaming at the mouth with big bubbly drool pouring onto the floor. and i just started crying, these huge tears dripping down my face... partly because i wondered if i had to rush her back to the ER, partly because she only got about half the meds in her and i'm so scared she's going to get worse. and i also feel bad for her, because she has no idea what's going on and she's in pain and frightened.

thank god D was with me... he calmed me down, and we sat and watched her closely as she calmed down too and the drooling and foaming stopped. but needless to say, the rest of the night i was a mess... my stomach was in knots, and i had a hard time sleeping because of the nausea. when i did sleep, i dreamed that monkey was getting worse and having seizures. *sigh*.

now i'm off to see my trainer on a few hours of sleep. oh, this will be a joy.
