blargh, up at 5am to do breakfast with a customer at 7am. i'm still harboring the last few germs of this cold, so getting up was NOT easy this morning.

i spent most of yesterday on the couch, sleeping, trying to feel better. the only time i left the house was to go to the vet... yesterday was monkey's dental surgery, and i had to drop her off at 7am and pick her up at 6pm. turns out they had to take out THREE teeth instead of two. *sigh* poor thing was so wonky last night from the anesthesia... at one point, i sat down on a low chair so she could jump up next to me... she did, flopped down only half on me, and looked up at me cross-eyed. awwwww.

in other news, i think D and i might be entering into a new phase of our relationship: THE VACATION. dun-dun-DUNNNNN! <--- dramatic music... i realized last night that i actually have 4 round-trip tickets anywhere in the country at my disposal, between frequent flyer miles and credit card points and other stuff. 2 of them have to be used together, so i delicately put the subject out there on IM last night... "um, i know we met only recently and all, but i have these 2 plane tickets, and thought we might have a kick-ass time if we took a long weekend somewhere, like maybe new orleans?" reponse: "DUDE! that would be so much fun!" *grin* so now we just have to figure out where the heck to go... i think the leading contender at this point is a long weekend in CA in wine country. we could do a couple of tastings, visit san francisco, and both lyle lovett and lavay smith are in concert there in the same weekend (we're both HUGE fans of both of them). oh, that would be so kickass...
