conversation with D saturday night, as we're trying to crank the heat in the car after running 3 blocks in the freezing cold:

me: (joking) god, i'd make an awful homeless person... i can't handle the cold at all!

D: the COLD? oh, i thought it was 'cause you wouldn't have your bling anymore. *grins*

me: hey, i could be homeless and still have my bling...

D: yeah, you'd be picking up cans not to recycle them for the cash, but to fashion some shiny metal accessories out of them.

me: i could live in a cardboard box behind the Swarovski store, and get all of their rejects out of the trash each night.

D: "excuse me, sir, are you done with that hotdog? no, i don't want the rest of it, although i'm starving... i just want the foil it's wrapped in."

*sigh* after just one month, he knows me so well.
