swingchickie | i hate somerville right now.

i've written several posts about the crappy snow situation in my town. basically, most residents have to park on the street here, and so when it snows, they declare a parking ban so they can plow one side of the street for easier driving. when the ban is in effect, anyone parked on the even-numbered side of the street will get a ticket or be towed. i wondered if they were going to declare a parking ban for this weekend, because i'd heard we were getting a small storm... but as i was in atlanta, i had no idea how much we were going to get. imagine how happy i was when i got in last night, and discovered that there was no parking ban. exhausted, i fell asleep at 9pm.

THEY DECLARED A PARKING BAN AT 11:30PM. any car not moved to the odd side of the street by 4am, is going to be ticketed or towed. i am so royally pissed right now. i just happened to wake up at 1am, and for whatever reason decided to stay up for a bit and catch up on my e-mails. my jaw dropped when i saw the e-mail announcement of the parking ban. so i just spent 1/2 hour, in my bunny pj's, driving around town looking for a legal parking spot. and wow, do i feel bad for all the poor bastards who weren't up in the middle of the night to find out about the ban... the town's going to make a lot of money tonight. grrrrr.

update: as of 7:45am, it is raining. bastards.
