swingchickiei just got home, and there are 4 puddles of cat barf in my kitchen. one is sometimes expected, 2 is a nuisance... 4 is a worry. yet monkey (i know she's the culprit, 'cause she woke me with her retching at 4am) is happy as a clam, snuggling and smooching me. hrm. she covers my apartment in gallons of vomit, and then wants to pretend everything's okay while i'm ready to rush her to the ER.
in good news... i totally lucked out today... yesterday my friend L2 and i went to the mall to look for dresses for new year's... i found a few that fit and were cute, but there was one that just fell into my lap... it was on the wrong rack, right near the entrance to the dressing room. i figured what the hell and grabbed it, and as soon as i put it on i knew it was the one... gold sparkly top, champagne satin skirt, very 1960s. L2 gasped when i walked out of the dressing room. the problem? it was a size too big... not too much of a problem up top (it'd give me room to dance in), but i was tripping over the skirt. i almost didn't buy it... i mean, where was i going to find a tailor who could do a rush job just a couple days before new year's eve??? but it was marked down soooo much ($80, original price $250), i had to buy it and at least try. and this morning i had an epiphany: there was another location of the same department store, that has an on-site tailor! so i took the dress there after work today, begged and pleaded, and it'll be ready for me thursday afternoon... hemmed to an even more 1960's tea-length. now all i need is gold dance shoes, and i am SO set for this weekend!
