a huge group of carolers came to our building tonight. it was such a surprise... considering that bostonians tend to keep to themselves, the fact that a bunch of strangers were singing in front of my apartment was quite a shock. but it was so nice, and really put me in the holiday spirit for the weekend. tonight i'm heading to
davissquarecats' place for a cocktail party... i was going to walk (it's only 1/2 mile away), but i don't want to walk back at like 1 or 2 in the morning. so i'm going to drive the 6 blocks. hehe i'm a little nervous about going, since i only know 3 or 4 people who will be there. it's going to be a big shindig -- last i checked, he had 80 RSVPs and a bunch of people who said they'd try but weren't sure. so 3 out of 80 people ain't much. i don't know why i get so on edge about making conversation with people i don't know... i mean, heck, i do it every day for work... but it's just really stressful for me. it doesn't come naturally. i have a girlfriend who is a genius at it, she can walk into a room full of strangers and have 20 new best friends by the time she goes home. me, i hover by the onion dip and pray for the night to be over. so let's see if i can change that tonight...
and oh... i made a snack to bring to the party - RUM BALLS! *hic* they are fab, i taste tested a few while i was making them and they are STRONG.
