swingchickieoh, i am SO sore this morning... went out dancing last night, thinking i'd go for just an hour or so... i ended up staying for three hours, and only left because i looked up and saw the clock was pushing midnight (which is several hours past my bedtime). eek. it was so much fun... i danced almost every song of the night, and with some amazing people. i can feel that i'm starting to get more comfortable with this kind of dance... some of the leaders are starting to throw some funky stuff in when they dance with me, and even though i may not be busting out a kick-ass follow to it in response, i'm at least getting what they're doing and following with basics. i can't wait 'til i'm comfortable and skilled enough that i can funkify even the littlest things. that will RAWK.
so, my back is definitely sore now, and my chiropractor is going to kick my ass for it tomorrow morning. i went to him on wednesday, the day after i'd last gone out dancing, and he could feel that my shoulder muscles were completely locked up, especially on my right side. i told him it was probably from being spun so much the night before. his suggestion was to calm down on the dancing until i'm better aligned (like 4 weeks or so), but i'm too defiant. :) i have to say, i love going to this guy. besides the fact that he's super-nice, and it only costs me a $10 copay for each treatment, it's really fun. i get a short massage to loosen up my back muscles (yay), then he starts working out all the kinks and realigning things. the other day when i was there, he had me lie face down on the table, and then he told me to take a deep breath and that as i let it out he'd press a bit on my back. "you might hear a little cracking sound", he told me. so i took a breath and let it out, he pressed down, and nothing. we did it again... deep breath, let it out, he pressed... pressed a bit harder... and CCCRRRRUUUUUUNNNNNCH! every one of my vertebrae went poppoppoppoppop into alignment. it was so loud though, that it completely startled me and i started laughing hysterically. *chuckle* i have a feeling i knocked 'em all back into chaos again last night, so we'll see what tomorrow's appointment brings...
