last night i went to T's place to watch the sox game. (a moment of silence for the sox, btw.) anyway, it was a last-minute invite, and much appreciated 'cause i just wasn't in the mood to go dancing. i figured a night with a bunch of girls (only one of whom i knew), watching the game with homemade ribs and foo-foo drinks, would be a really fun saturday night. and it was... the game sucked, but it was fun to meet some new people, and the food was phenomenal.
but the one thing that really hit me about the evening was how stunning T's apartment was. and it's not that T and her roomie had filled the place with expensive furniture and all, as a matter of fact most of their stuff was from ikea... it's that there was no clutter. like, none. not even a bookshelf holding a bunch of multicolored books. the whole place was decorated very simply, and everything looked so pretty and clean because there just wasn't a lot of stuff. and i thought of my own apartment, packed to the ceilings with crap and covered in cat hair, and i was mortified.
so today, i'm going to reorganize my apartment. i'm buying huge bins at target to store my summer clothes, and then i am going through all my stuff and weeding out the clutter, and donating it all to charity. i'm totally psyched.
