a-a-afternoon deliiight...
Aug. 30th, 2004 09:33 pmi have to say, this "no tv" thing is working out really well. it's freed up so much time in my life... even for silly things, like doing the dishes (instead of letting them pile up) or running errands (instead of putting them off for weeks). i'd always let things slide because i'd be vegged out in front of the tube all night... now the evenings feel so much fuller, so productive.
tonight it's been blazing hot in my apartment. i'm on the 4th floor, and i'm only allowed one 5000BTU air conditioner because it's an old building. so i've been roasting. by 7pm i couldn't take it anymore, and walked into the square to run some errands. i was literally drenched with sweat, the back of my head was soaked and my shirt was stuck to me. ugh. on the walk home, i was dreading facing the sauna that was my apartment... then i walked by my tiny local movie theatre, and saw that "anchorman" was playing in 15 minutes. hmmm... movie i wanted to see? air conditioning? concession food? considering that i wasn't married to the tv anymore, i had the night free... so hell yeah! i bought myself a ticket and a big-assed twizzlers, and laughed my butt off for 2 hours. great, GREAT movie... and by the time i left the theater, the heat had calmed down. aaahhhhh.
off to bed now. gonna try to hit the gym tomorrow at 5:30am. eek.
