There's a comment on that blog from someone named Shane saying:
I’ve met this guy - he’s called “Dimitri the Lover” - he’s been doing this type of thing for at least 5 years now. He’s a kind of ‘reality performance artist’ - he’s made the conscious decision to be the biggest, absolute throbbing veined, over-the-top, larger than life, complete and utter misogynistic, creepy, asshole to women that he could possibly be. He goes out of his way to be everything that women purport to hate, and find unattractive in a potential mate; and consequently gets more pussy than anyone I ever met. All the smarter women that realize or are made aware of what he’s doing play along with him when around women they don’t like - playing him up as a ’sex god’, He goes out clubbing and never pays for anything, fucks women in bathrooms, gets blow jobs in cabs and so on - and does it all while being the biggest fucking prick to women too stupid to realize what he’s doing. Now, here's the debate topic. if you consciously decide to behave in this misogynistic of a manner, are you still a reality performance artist?

i wonder if the "performance artist" claim is a way to cover himself... i googled him too, and came up with reports of sexual misconduct filed against him from years ago and all sorts of other fun stuff.

One of the comments below the audio clip mentions his website where there is a radio interview he did for a local Hamilton, Ontario radio station [the interviewer is Ben Guyatt, host of Comedy at Club 54, again, a local production]. The guy is in Toronto, based partially on the phone number he gave in the clip "416-918-xxx4" [416 being one of two area codes in Toronto]. I take it he was a medical student in the early 90's, but ran into that sexual misconduct charge [that never went any further, so there is no record, I think], and has been carrying on with this bizarre treatment of women ever since... and making a business out of it!

ETA: i should learn to not post replies when i'm sleepy, i thought someone was actually saying that he calls himself a performance artist. oops.

for me, there are 2 things to ponder. 1. his treatment of women - he's an ass and i hope the publicity over these voicemails means that no-one ever sleeps with him again. 2. women letting themselves get treated poorly - if you let yourself get treated like a piece of meat by a jerk like this, then you've brought it on yourself. he sucks, but you have the power to walk away (or post his voicemails online as this woman did).

i saw the interview button but didn't listen because i feared i was going to throw my computer at the wall. bleh. i love that there are guys who actually take his "seminars" to learn how to be jerks to women... i can just see them sitting on their barstools crying out, "but the seminar said that line would work!" as drinks get tossed in their faces.

It was an ok interview to listen to, some head-shaking and eye-rolling, but I don't think you'll be inclined toss your computer at the wall :) It was interesting, though, to listen to the host converse with his colleagues after the interview had concluded and Dimitri had hung up.

I guess the Law Of Large Numbers prevails here... you ask enough women, get plenty of drinks in the face... but... eventually... there is going to be the one woman who doesn't know any better, or doesn't care, or just simply wants to find a sexual partner for the evening, and is going to wind up with one of Dimitri's losers.
