jenn the spammer
Jun. 6th, 2008 10:18 amfor my peeps who are business owners, and even those who aren't: how do you go about drumming up business? what are your thoughts on cold-call mailings, e-mails, etc?
reason i ask: if you looked at the new tailspinhoops.com, you probably saw that i'm trying out a wedding special this summer. i want to contact the philly-area wedding planners to let them know about it, but most of their websites don't list addresses to do a mailing... they only have an e-mail address to direct inquiries. sending out some e-mails would certainly be efficient, and i could include the link to the site for easy access... but i don't want to be seen as some nasty spammer.
whaddaya think?

Date: 2008-06-06 10:49 pm (UTC)1. You've been to their site and know something about them as an individual (business)
2. You're trying to benefit both of you by contacting them
3. You can keep it short and to the point while still being enticing
I think that you miiiiight still be seen by a select few as slightly 'spammy' - but I would argue that the good connections made would solidly outweigh that minority.
