swingchickie: (slim goodbody)

12 hours ago, i was in the throes of a stomach bug that had been going on for 3 days. my body was getting rid of every last bit of food and liquid in not-very-delicate ways, and i was so woozy that i worried about making it the 1 mile to the store to get more gatorade.

cut to now -- my energy is about 75% back, the nausea is gone, and i ravenously scarfed down a cheeseburger and small fries from mcdonald's for dinner that has stayed down for 2 hours so far with no problem.

i do not understand the human body at all. how can things change that drastically in just a few hours, especially considering that this bug had been hanging on for so long? not that i'm complaining, i'm flippin' thrilled...

I often find that this is how my body handles things. I'm firmly convinced that there is something in the food or drink that's causing it. Once my body gets rid of it I feel immediately better. It's as if my body 'knows' exactly what and where the problem is, so it immediately sends the 'all clear' signal when... well... all's clear.

Sorry if this is TMI, but I've been known to say from over the bowl "Ok - that's it. All's good - just let me catch my breath."
