i can't believe i'm at the age where i need to get a colonoscopy. went to the doctor yesterday because of all the tummy problems i've been having... he wants to check things out just to make sure it's not something major. ick.

funny thing was, the darn appointment was at 4:45pm, when i needed to drive down to philly as soon as it was done. i just wanted to be on the road with boston behind me, but first i needed to have a consultation with him. well, little did i know that the consultation would turn into a colonoscopy appointment, bloodwork, and a lovely rectal exam. that's just great -- stick a needle in my arm, give me a bit of a how's-your-father, and then send me off to philly. lovely.

the drive down to philly was absolutely beautiful. it was a cool summer night, i had the window down and my new CD cranked up... i took some deep breaths of cool summer air and felt very at peace. this is going to be a good trip.

i heard the storm was NUTS! wasn't there a tornado at one point? my mom said she had to go wait it out in the basement...

i don't know where that expression came from... i saw it in the first "austin powers" movie, and it creeped me out and made me laugh... and stuck with me. *grin*

My first memory of it is from the old Squeeze song "Cool for Cats:" "...meanwhile at the station there's a coupla likely lads/ that swear like how's-your-father..." I think it's not NORMALLY a euphemism for boinking...
