swingchickielast night was my first west coast swing class in... geez... 5 months? 6 months? i'm not even sure. i'm certainly rusty, but it was good to be back. it's still the same crowd, i'm the youngest in the room by 20 years and everyone is concentrating on their steps instead of really "dancing"... but it was nice to leave the building after 2 classes with a teeny weeny bit of sweat on my brow.
what i'm really psyched for, is that somehow they just hired john festa to come down from NY to teach an advanced class on thursday nights. w00t! that'll be my regular class from now on. AND, he's doing a monthly sunday california mix dance party there as well, that i'm sure will attract some good dancers from NJ. so hopefully the level of social dance will start to pick up now that he's teaching in the area? we shall see...
