birthday weekend
Oct. 28th, 2007 09:10 pmmy birthday weekend was decidedly un-birthday-y. i have a feeling i'll be more "in the spirit" next weekend, when i have dinner with some of mah philly peeps in the city on friday.
it was just one of those weekends where so much went wrong (and you know i always focus on the negative) -- my family had to reschedule their b-day dinner for me, because mom had a raging cold... then saturday morning i walked into my kitchen to discover rain POURING down the walls (looks like 2 roofers walking up there this week made things worse), so i spent the morning running around with towels and buckets, crossing my fingers that the ceiling didn't cave in (it didn't, thank god). AND, my second roofer estimate arrived in the mail that day: $4200. ugh.
there was some complete awesomeness as well, though...
ms_violet's bridal shower (i'll post photos soon) was a blast... and i came home to find jack there early, setting up a bouquet of flowers, a bunch of balloons, and an AWESOME birthday gift for me: a new camera! (i've been taking hoop photos for my website with a crappy camera this whole time. yes, i still need to make the file sizes on there smaller.) he also took me out for dinner last night and spent all day with me hunkered down on the couch watching movies and "storm chasers" on TLC. i needed that "veg time" so much.
oh, and i started a new community if anyone's interested...
holiday_homes is for people to post photos of their homes decorated for all the different holidays. i'm psyched to see if it takes off -- every holiday, especially xmas, i end up scrounging all the decorating communities for 1-2 ideas in each, now there's a place to have it all together. if any of you have halloween photos and want to help get things started, that'd be awesome.
