ah, it's been quite the day.
Nov. 20th, 2006 10:48 pmi got a lot accompished, and managed to relax and have quite a bit of fun as well. yes, this vacation thing is working out nicely. :)
besides the massage and facial (which was GREAT... but i walked out of there with enough skin serums to double my bill, eek!), i ran a bunch of errands that'll keep me going for the rest of the week. got a filing cabinet (i've been desperate for one for YEARS), so i can spend some time sorting out all of my papers... paid a bunch of bills... and got angus his early xmas present!!! you may recall that last xmas, i got him a bling "A" for his collar, so he'd have some street cred in his new 'hood... well, i've upgraded him to:

*chucklesnort* he really is going to kill me in my sleep someday.
i also did some of my xmas decorating... you might recall that a couple of posts ago, i said i was going to go buy some things that would make me very happy when i put them together. well, i give you... my new xmas tree!

not sure if you can tell, but the "tinsel" is feather boas, and all the ornaments are pink and gold. it's vomitously girly, and i looove it.
my 2 favorite new ornaments:
dance shoe!!! (this is exactly like a pair of gold dance shoes i have)

and... pink convertible!!!

being in a xmas-y mood, i drove out to peddler's village to check out their light display. it was always a xmas tradition growing up... we'd go as a family and walk around, looking at the lights... then we'd head home, and dad would build a fire in the fireplace and we'd drink cocoa. so i stopped at starbucks and got a peppermint mocha, and made the trek out to lahaska. i got some crappy photos (because my camera SUCKS ASS), but you'll get the idea:

i liked this light-covered arch, it blinked all different colors as you walked through it:

they also have an annual gingerbread house contest, some of the entries this year were AMAZING:

and LOOK at this one! the stone wall is made of icing and RAISINETS... the roof is freaking NECCO WAFERS!!!

after wandering around, i took the long way home and drove through my old neighborhood. my old house looks the same, it looks like there's even a girl living in my bedroom (i could see blue flowered curtains in the windows, i guess they still have the same blue carpeting). and there's still the usual crop of wild animals -- i had to avoid two deer and a red fox on the way home. heh.
so, now i'm home, safe and sound and warm (but still ZOOMING from the darn mocha). and angus is enjoying the tree:

happy early holidays!!!
