well, dammit.
Aug. 25th, 2006 06:27 pmi'm fighting with myself again. (no, not with the voices in my head. that's a whole other discussion.) my handyman cancelled for tonight, so i actually have time to shower and go out. but i have a ton of stuff to do around the house, to get ready for my housewarming BBQ next weekend. (like oh, i dunno, finish unpacking.) so, do i shower and head into the city, have a mojito with some of my trainees at cuba libre and then go salsa dancing? or do i stay home and, already sweaty from doing yard work, tackle more house stuff and go to bed without all this stuff hanging over my head?
hrm. salsa dancing... sense of accomplishment... salsa dancing... sense of accomplishment...
dammit.
in work news, my class did really well today in their certifications. i was actually moved by how well they did, to the point that i almost welled up a little. i know they're grown adults, but i can't help but be proud of them. each of them pulled me aside today after they certified with me, and thanked me for my help... one of them, who sold this particular product a while ago and was here as a refresher, said she learned more from me in 3 days than in the couple of years she'd already promoted the product. please, oh PLEASE let them send that feedback along when they're asked to evaluate the class!
wacky weekend ahead... tomorrow's a BBQ, visiting a friend at the airport (long story), and a show at milkboy. sunday is an unorthodox road trip during the day, then a tribute show for mike young in the evening. somewhere in there my dad is coming over to install a new doorbell (he is having SO much fun with my house), and i need to do a ton of housework and office work.
ETA: yes, i'm a responsible dork... i chose to stay local and get stuff done. and i really did -- i hit the supermarket and got all the non-refrigerated food i'll need for my BBQ (and you know, normally i hate those store discount cards, but the darn thing saved me $25 tonight!!!), bought some plastic trays and serving utensils, and found the perfect blue paint for my front door at home depot. and angus is happily stoned out of his mind from the catnip-infused scratcher i got him at target. so all is happy in the household tonight. *grin*
i'm sure i'll be totally jealous tomorrow morning though, when i read
boutell's account of his night of latin booty-shakin'...
