swingchickiegod, i love sitting here on saturday morning, waking up with an awesome cup of coffee, when the whole weekend still lies before me and the weather is gorgeous. life doesn't get much better than this!
thursday night i had so much fun... took another west coast swing lesson, this one was teaching cool moves to use in dance competitions. the moves were ones i'd actually seen before and liked, so it was perfect. afterwards they said they were having a jack and jill dance competition... (for the non-dancers who read this, a jack and jill competition is a dance competition where you enter by yourself, instead of with a partner. they have the girls get out on the floor, and then they pull the guys' names out of a hat and pair them up with the girls, and that's who you dance with. so you might have never danced with this person before, and now you're going to compete with them. it's a hoot.)
anyway, so i figured i'd sign up at the beginner level and see how i did... but the girl who was doing the registrations said i should be in intermediate. i was pretty intimidated, because the names on the intermediate list were of really good people, but i said okay. the guy i was paired up with was a really fun dancer, and it was a riot because his pants kept falling down and he kept yanking them up the whole time. and guess what -- we actually got THIRD PLACE! wahoo!!!
last update: i cut the hair again. it is now really shortshortSHORT. like, shorter than halle berry's hair. it's cute, very stylish... but the b.f. hates it. other people have been giving me some nice compliments, but he won't even look at it or touch it. doofus.
