just came back from wal-mart... i had to run there for a hose, so i could try to clean off the 2 months of fallen leaves and dirt that are piled up on my deck. i couldn't seem to find the spray nozzle attachments, so i asked the lawn & garden employee, who showed me where they were. as i settled in to figure out which kind i wanted, he said, "can i tell you something?" "sure..." i replied. then he laid it on me: "you have really pretty feet."

i looked down at my feet in sandals... the feet that have been trudging through dirt all morning... with a right big toe that has a big gash in it and half a toenail, from when i stubbed it during the move... and silently shuddered.

bleh.
