there's a chance i might be able to scoot out of the office a few hours early today, like my manager suggested to me at the end of last week. if i'm going to do it, today's the only day -- my whole day is free and clear of meetings, whereas the rest of the week is packed solid. i'm going to try my darndest, i need the break... but what the heck do i do with a few hours to kill? yes, i need to do responsible house-y stuff like switch the electricity into my name... but part of me wants to just drive into the city and read a book in an outdoor cafe or something. i'll have to ponder this.
got a lot done at work yesterday... i "took a lot of bites out of the elephant", as the saying goes. i even got to record a voiceover, which i haven't done in a million years. the big project i'm working on is a morning of workshops that our sales managers will run with their reps at a meeting, and we need to train them on the information... so we're creating an online training module with narration that takes them through everything. for one of the chapters, they asked me if i'd do the narration, since i created all of the info. so i got to sit in the booth with the headset and big fat mic and everything, and voice about 15 minutes of script... lots of fun. i didn't expect my 15 minutes of fame to be on a training CD for my company, but what the heck, i'll take it. :)
