swingchickiegod, i love long holiday weekends... they're so much fun...
spent yesterday vegging out at home, then the b.f. and i went to dinner, and then later dessert at this great place in harvard square called Finale. they specialize in desserts and after-dinner drinks, and every dish is a work of art. i had the most decadent molten chocolate cake... the kind where it's cake-y on the outside, and then you cut into it and all the hot raw cake batter oozes out of the middle. YUM. afterwards i went west coast swing dancing to burn off some calories... it was a lot of fun, some really good dancers asked me to dance which was totally flattering.
today has been bliss. the b.f. went on a hike with his crowd of friends, so i've had the place to myself since 7am. spent the morning doing work-y stuff, both housework and work-work. took a nap from noon-2:30pm (i LOVE midday naps, it's my favorite thing ever!), then decided to get out of the house for a while because it's a perfect spring day outside. went down the street to TJMaxx and figured i'd browse a bit... ended up coming out with $120 worth of stuff! oops! it's just that more stuff is fitting me now that the weight is coming off... so i treated myself to some smaller things that look really cute. i got 2 sundresses (one white, one 1970's floral print), a t-shirt that says "cosmo" with a rhinestone cosmopolitan drink on it, a black and white striped skirt (size 8!!! holy crap!!!), and a kickass pair of white high-heeled loafers. so $120 wasn't bad for all that.
did some grocery shopping afterwards, and let me just say, WHOLE FOODS ROCKS. i love going in there, i feel healthier just by walking thru the aisles. everything smells like it's at the peak of freshness... super-ripe fruit, fresh ground coffee, pungent cheeses, fresh baked breads... i could stay in there all day.
now it's off to take a bubble bath and give myself a mani/pedi (shimmery white), then dinner and karaoke with some friends. AWESOME DAY! wahoo!
