weight loss update
May. 18th, 2004 07:58 amprogress is slow and steady, the way it should be. i've lost 6 pounds so far, so that's an average of 2 a week... i feel really good, not as many stomach problems (except for when i ate a cone of frozen yogurt during saturday's drive home to boston. not good when you're lactose-sensitive and are in the middle of a 7-hour drive. eew). it's interesting -- i'm finding that if i eat more than my 21 points a day i feel like crap. like at the end of last week when i'd saved my extra points for going out to dinner and such... even though i was still within my points for the week, my body just didn't feel right. maybe that's why i used to feel so sick all the time... i was just eating way more than my body could handle.
throwing out my scale was one of the best things i've ever done. not checking it every day means i just stick to the way i'm supposed to eat, and i don't rely on a daily number to determine my mood or whether i'll cheat.
i need to exercise more now. i've been pretty sedentary lately, mostly from stress at work. i watched a neat MTV show the other day -- they put 3 girls through 3 months of j-lo's workouts (6 days a week) and eating habits, then checked the results at the end. at the end of 3 months, they had all lost a bunch of weight and looked fantastic. the thing was, they really got their asses kicked in the gym every day, and that's what helped them the most. if i'm going to keep losing weight and tone up, i have to start going to the gym or taking more dance classes. there's just no way around it.
goal: i want to be down 25 pounds by the end of the summer. wahoo!
