i have a rant: people whose job it is to write things seen by the public (articles, website content, etc) but who have ridiculous spelling or grammar. blogging is one thing, because most of those folks are on their own. but when you're writing for a news outlet or something, i would hope you'd have a basic understanding of english.

case in point: i follow our local NBC station on facebook because i'm a dork that way. this morning they posted a weekly feature where one of the morning anchors has lunch at a local restaurant and raves about it and helps make some of the food. this particular post was about a french restaurant, and whoever posted it wrote "see Aditi make their famous keesh". KEESH? i almost spit out my coffee. of course as soon as i LOLed in a comment, they took it down and fixed it. but goodness gracious.

this isn't just one instance... almost daily i see major errors in online content, and it's not a slip of the keys, it's full-on not knowing how to spell a word. isn't there an editor looking over anyone's shoulder?

... cause it haz a dawg. :) meet catie copley, the "canine ambassador" for the hotel... you can set up an appointment to take her for a walk, but all i want to do is book a big snorgle. she is such a sweetheart, and look at that grin! every time i walk past her in the lobby, i just want to get down on the floor with her and give her a hug.

of course the downside to this is that even though i get all *squee!* when i see her, i then take a deep nosedive into missing angus and duck. waaaaah!
