happy sigh.
Dec. 10th, 2008 06:33 amour anniversary dinner last night was awesome. jack told me to choose the restaurant, so i went with Honey in doylestown. we'd eaten there over the summer and loved it... and last night was phenomenal once again. this place is now officially our favorite local restaurant. i had told them it was our anniversary when i made the reservation, so they gave us one of their more private curtained booths... and 2 glasses of champagne to sip as we looked at the menu. the menu is mostly shared plates, so we picked a bunch of stuff to try -- oxtail mac & cheese, oysters, duck mini tacos... but the best was the asian short ribs. they gave us a little stack of hoisin-glazed ribs that were falling off the bone, and a teeny scoop of a spicy ginger ice cream... the idea is that the creaminess of the ice cream complements the saltiness of the rib sauce, so you eat a bite of each together. our eyes were popping out of our heads it was so good. and we split a dessert called "booze for dessert" -- whiskey bread pudding with guinness ice cream and a baileys sauce. yeah. whew.
oh -- and jack showed up at my house before dinner with an armful of 2 dozen red and white roses... one rose for each month we've been dating. *swoon*
in other news, it is 60 degrees and rainy today. mother nature, you are a mean meanie for giving me 60 degrees but no sun, so i can't put the top down on the car. i'm already counting down the days until march.
