perfect end to a friday.
Jun. 13th, 2008 06:36 pmi spent most of today putting together a presentation on the project i'm helping to oversee. it took way longer than i'd planned, because some of the data that i had to sift through was incomplete/incorrect/etc and i had to do all sorts of sleuthing to get the correct info. FINALLY i had everything put into powerpoint, and e-mailed it to my partner, who will have to use the deck to present to senior management on monday morning.
10 minutes before i was set to leave for the weekend, i get an e-mail from him: "can you send me the slide deck again? you accidentally sent me the version from 2 weeks ago." silly me, i thought, and went into powerpoint to find the file. not there. i searched everywhere in my computer... nope. i had saved that file numerous times as i worked on it today, but for whatever reason, it was completely gone. *insert weeping and gnashing of teeth here*
so at the end of the day on a friday, i had to recreate what had taken me 5 hours to do today. thank goodness i'd saved my notes, and was able to use all of them to recreate 10 slides worth of charts and graphs. but wow, do i need a beer now. off to jack's.
