ahhhhhhh. lazy sunday morning.

coffee, a stack of home decorating magazines, and an entire day ahead of me. this is heaven. brady-bunch trivia and DDR-player boy postponed our lunch today, and i'm not upset... it gives me more time to relax and maybe unpack some more boxes.

dad came over yesterday and helped with some more house stuff. we installed the bamboo blinds in my bedroom... SO freaking COOL, i can't wait to post pix!

had a very nice first date with the young homeowner guy from okcupid. the 4-year age difference (with me being the old woman) wasn't glaringly apparent, which was a pleasant surprise to me. and he brought me - how sweet - some lowe's 10% off coupons for all the house stuff i have to get. aw.

so today is maxin' and relaxin', some laundry, some sushi at my fave place (the only thing i miss about living in my apartment), the philly rollergirls smackdown tonight. really, really cool day. aaahhhh.

this weekend has once again shown me...

that this city, even though it's one of the largest in the country, has a completely incestuous social scene.

friday night boutell and i did first friday in the city, and then headed over to his friend's birthday party. (turns out i'd met the friend before, a couple of months ago.) as he and jeremym and i were chatting in the back room, the door opened for more guests... and who walked in but the couple whose wedding i'd gone to almost two years ago, the ones who had been my campers when i'd taught at a summer acting camp and ended up marrying 15 years later! (i posted about it here.) turns out sean and the birthday boy are in comedysportz together now. too funny.

this evening, jeremym and boutell and i went to see the philly rollergirls duke it out in camden, and who was there sitting in our row but the guy from okcupid who'd cancelled our date this weekend. *chuckle* we chatted for a minute, but he was pretty uncomfortable. i love it! hee!

the rollergirls bout was a blast. punk music blasting through the rink, a huge crowd, and tattooed chicks in teeny skirts kicking each others' butts as they whipped around the rink. and their names are hysterical: jane fondle... annie christ... peg legs... jeremym and boutell and i tried to think of what my name would be if i joined the team:

boutell: "Mean Latifah!"
jeremym: "Dinah Wontchablow!"
me: "Molotov Cocktease!"

mine would never be allowed, but i like it. :) perhaps a second LJ identity is in order... *grin* god knows i'll never be an actuall rollergirl, because we stayed for the all-skate afterwords and i suck. it was fun, but within a few laps my ankles and knees were screaming. those gals make it look so easy, but it is a workout. all i know is, i'm going to be ouchy tomorrow. eek.
