MERRY XMAS!!!!!
Dec. 25th, 2005 08:23 amyay! merry xmas everyone! i hope you get alllllll the gifties and love and stuff that you want today. i did most of my xmas celebrating last night, mom and i went to dad's (i'm still amazed that they're friends again) and we all exchanged our gifts and ate lots of snacks and watched a couple of DVDs. the best part? it was so warm yesterday, i drove to pick up my mom WITH THE TOP DOWN on the convertible. whee! first time the top was down, and it was on xmas eve... you gotta love it. i am SO going to love that once spring hits... it felt amazing to drive with the wind in my hair and the stars over my head, with basement jaxx blasting out of the speakers. oh, i'm so happy i got this car!!!!!
today is laundry and stuff, then off to mom's for the afternoon to flop on the sofa in our sweats and watch movies. very psyched. the only bummer is that i'd kind of like to go out tonight... and everything will be closed. i love holidays, all of 'em, but the day of the holiday sometimes becomes unbearably boring for me because nothing is open and the only stuff on tv is crappy parades and other things i don't want to watch. meh.
actually, i wouldn't mind hanging out with my new karaoke friends tonight, but dammit, hanukkah falls on xmas this year so they'll be busy with family. (or actually, as KB ["karaoke buddy"] called it, "jew-schmoozing and chinese-food-eating". heh.) i've been thinking about KB a bit since we met... i think it's that he's just a joy to be around, so happy and fun and talkative and warm. (that, and he used the term "metric assload", which no-one in the world uses but me, so he rocks.) so i wish i could hang with him again, just to be bathed in some of the joy and energy that he radiates. i could use some of that in my life right now.
and in 2 days I'M IN BOSTON!!!!! AAAAIIIIEEEEE!!!!!! i can't wait to see my boston peeps, i almost could cry from the happiness...
