second big day off did not go quite as planned. i got up at 6am to wait for the cable guy, he was supposed to be here between 7 and 9:30am. by 9:30, no cable guy, so i called comcast. they said he was on his way. a half hour later, he still wasn't here, and i had to leave for my massage appointment... so i had to cancel. turns out the guy showed up at 11:15, almost 2 hours past the end of the window. all comcast could do was say "sorry for the inconvenience" and re-schedule me. now i have to wait until NEXT SATURDAY for tv... i am SO ready to strangle every single comcast employee right now, and then burn the building to the ground, and dance on the ashes. i've been without tv for a week already, dammit!
the massage and facial were pretty good. i fell asleep during the facial, but no chance of that during the massage after. both were done by a big russian woman named galena... and i swear to god, she massaged me as though she was giving me an alcohol rub in a soviet mental institution. she was all business -- forceful, precise, and not the least bit sensual or relaxing. when it was done, she gave me her card and was like, "i do waxing too." oh yeah, like i'm going to let you get near my privates with a tub of hot wax and a popsicle stick. no THANK you.
i was pretty surprised as i left the spa... it was on the 3rd floor of the saks outside of philly, and i'd expected that it would be mobbed (i got there early assuming i'd have to fight for a parking space). it was actually dead, maybe 100 people in the whole store on black friday. i was floored. maybe it's because they charge freaking $500 FOR A T-SHIRT in that place. ya think?
i didn't unpack a single thing today. i couldn't bring myself to. looking at those remaining 10 boxes is just exhausting, especially because half of them are full of clothes that i have to hang up piece by piece. ugh. that'll be tomorrow.
i'm debating going dancing tonight. there's a dance from 9-11pm right near me, but it's cold outside and i think the crowd might be way past my age (my mom has been to this dance. my mom knows more places to swing dance here than i do, and she doesn't swing dance.) i'm going to wish really REALLY hard for someone to come to my warm apartment, put me in a warmth bubble and transport me in it to a warm place with lots of nice people and fun stuff to do. if anyone here can do that, let me know. *grin*
*waves hi to everyone* happy friday!
