zzzzzzz...

yes, it's 4:30am and i've been up for 1/2 hour already. i turned over in bed, and my mind sprung awake and started processing everything i have to do in the next week or so... and that was it. i'm up for good now.

soooo much to do. i actually got a chunk done last night... i completed my apartment application (i'll fedex it this morning), finished my end-of-week reports, cleaned up my e-mail inbox, made all of my to-do lists for the next week. all of this while fighting the start of a nasty cold. ugh. it's amazing all the little things that have to be done... like, the laptop i've had for 8 years has to be given back, so i had to go through every file on it to see what i need to keep for future or personal use, and e-mail it to my regular e-mail. that took forever. and my party next weekend -- i'm not going to have the time to bake 75 cupcakes now, so i have to hire a bakery to do it for me and deliver everything to the nightclub.

somehow in the craziness this week, i'd like to take a couple of hours of "me time" and do some shopping. i need business casual clothes (and i didn't get any of the stuff at bloomie's the other day), so a little shopping trip would be a nice break. will it actually happen? doubt it.

i got zippo packing done today. i got some administrative stuff done, which was important... started my october expense report, shipped my deposit on the apartment, called a local bakery to order the cupcakes for my birthday (i was gonna bake them all myself, but there's no way i can, so it'll be worth the $150), bought a buttload of boxes. i also had to pit 2 car dealerships against each other, which i hated doing. i just felt so sleazy. i called a second dealership to see if what the first one was offering me was fair, and they gave me a better deal... so when i called the first place, they went down even lower. so basically i'm getting exactly the car i want, with tons of fun features, for a little bit under invoice... plus they're letting me finance it through my credit union, which is a much lower rate than they were offering. i think i made out well. now i just have to go tomorrow and get the paperwork to send to my insurance company and credit union. i haven't bought a car in over 10 years, this is totally freaking me out.

spent a little bit of time with L1 at lunchtime today. it was a nice break from all the running around. i felt so bad though, because my phone kept ringing with apartment peoples' questions and car dealership peoples' questions and work folks congratulating me. then at 3pm (an hour late, natch), D came over so i could help him with his halloween costume. he's going as a starbucks barista, and he wanted a bunch of tats and fake piercings. he got the piercings at claire's in the mall, but he needed help with the tats. and i'm actually pretty proud of them, they came out looking not totally sucky:
