blecch, SO don't wanna go to work. it's been really cool (temp-wise) this weekend, so i have slept like an absolute baby every night. it was really hard to get up this morning when i was all hunkered down and comfy-cozy under a blanket.

the weekened was good. relaxing. D was out of town at his reunions, so i just sort of bummed around and did random stuff. i'd hoped to go to a dance workshop on saturday, and dancing outdoors at copley on sunday, but i was worried it would irritate the new tattoo. it's been doing really well, i don't feel it at all except if a tag rubs against it or something. so i don't want to push things. but it would have been fun to go dancing, darnit. same with baths... no baths, pools, jacuzzis, etc. for two weeks (i was actually supposed to get it done about 2 weeks ago, but i wouldn't have been able to "jaccuze" on the cape). i was desperate for a bubble bath last night... i'm going to have a really long, LONG one as soon as my 2 weeks is up!

spent the afternoon in the ER with monkey yesterday. she stopped eating a couple of days ago, and i was starting to get concerned. i tried everything -- juice from a can of tuna, mushy cat food, baby food, you name it... she would just turn away. i finally called angell from more suggestions, and to make an appointment to have her seen, and they told me she shouldn't wait... she needed to be in the ER. argh. 3 hours, 200 dollars and some IV fluids later, she was inhaling an entire bowl of crunchies at home. either she's the biggest scam artist ever, or the folks at angell are miracle workers. and oh -- i saw a brand-new, hours-old little kitten while i was there! god, they look like little mice, it was so teeny tiny! the owners brought the mom in because she'd been in labor since 5am and only had one kitten out... they thought one was stillborn, and was blocking the others. eek. poor kitty, i hope she did okay after i left... she was there for a long time, i wonder if they had to get a surgeon or something to come in, because no-one was doing anything. they'd just come out to check and see if she was breathing okay.

and oh -- "the island" (that new ewan macgregor/scarlett johannsen movie) is better than the critics said. it got awful reviews, but it was a really fun, exciting summer movie. i'd recommend it. it's 2 and 1/2 hours long though, so leave a chunk of time free. :)

darnit.

downside of the tattoo: no bubble baths. i desperately needed one tonight... my neck and shoulder muscles are locked up, and a good hot soak would really help. instead i had to take a long hot shower... fine, but not the same.

fun fun FUN week ahead... dancing tomorrow night, sox game on wednesday (my first EVER!), ben folds/rufus wainwright concert friday night. wheeee!
