yay weekend!

it's funny... i didn't do anything major, but i'm feeling really good as this weekend winds down. i have co-workers coming over tomorrow morning for a meeting, so i had to scrub the apartment from top to bottom, which took most of the day yesterday (D was at home planting all his veggies for the summer). i did a total overhaul on this place -- vacuumed, dusted, scrubbed the toilet, scrubbed the tub, scrubbed every room from top to bottom. spent 2 hours shredding old receipts and old paperwork from work. i took a nap yesterday evening, i was so tired from all of it. :) by the time D came over around 10pm, we played 2 rounds of "chez geek" and then i was snoring like a mo-fo.

today i was on my own again for the afternoon (D was planting his mom's veggies today), so i did a bit more cleaning (yes, there was more) and then treated myself to an awesome early dinner at the local seafood place, the summer shack -- tomato and fish chowder, grilled eggplant and greens with goat cheese, and a half-order of calamari that i barely touched because i was so full. tonight is more work -- computer stuff for my meeting tomorrow, which will take the rest of the night (but at least the tony's will be on to distract me once in a while).

so, the whole weekend was work... why am i so mellow and happy? maybe it's a sense of accomplishment that i did so much work that had been hanging over my head... maybe it's because this was the first time in 3 months that D didn't spend the whole weekend here (i miss him a bit, tho)... who knows. but it's a good feeling, nonetheless.
