random stuff

for some reason, i really want to decorate my apartment for christmas. usually i get really pissed when the holiday stuff pops into stores before halloween, but for some reason this year it's ME who's jumping the gun. i love decorating my fake tree, i usually make cocoa (sugar-free this year!) and put on some swing xmas tunes and spend the afternoon making everything all pretty. but i want it noooowwwww...

i'm officially down 6 pounds now. amazing that that's in just one week. i know it'll slow once i go to phase 2 of south beach, but it's still a great start! i can already feel a difference... last week, i wore a new suit to the wedding, and i had to wear heavy-duty Spanx just to squeeze into the pants... on friday i wore the suit again, and the pants just slid on with no problem! wow.

i'm home with a cold today. blecch. i had to miss my friend's baby shower... i thought about going for a bit, but i just don't want to risk getting her sick. so i've been home today doing laundry and random chores, and of course lots of napping. gotta get rid of this thing.

and oh -- the 70's station on XM radio absolutely kicks ass. one of the best radio stations i've ever listened to.

reason #497 why i have the coolest cats in the whole world.

this is angus as a kitten, trying to drink through a straw. he watched me do it, and then when i put my cup down he sat down next to it, pressed his kitty lips to the straw, and sat there waiting for something to happen. he's the cutest thing ever.
