last night i drove home from L1's house with the sound of car horns blaring in every direction. davis square is right near tufts university, and has several really popular bars, which adds up to a lot of drunk people pouring out after watching the awesome sox game last night. everyone was beeping in celebration. i was exhausted, because the game went past midnight (usually i'm asleep in front of the TV by 9pm). i parked in front of my building and snored as soon as my head hit the pillow.

this morning i've been waiting for my superintendent to show up to check my smoke detector. i wanted to be home for it, because 1. i have company equipment (fax, etc.) here, and 2. i can hide all the cat stuff in the bedroom and not worry about monkey and angus escaping if i'm not here and the door is open. so i've been ready since 7:30 (i was told he'd come over "first thing"), and at 8:15am i heard some sort of equipment-y noise outside... i looked out my window and saw the street sweeper. oh, crap. it's the 3rd wednesday of the month, and i'm parked on the bad side of the street. from 8-noon, anyone parked there gets a $50 ticket and can get towed as well. i rushed down, and there was no ticket yet, thank god. but for blocks and blocks, the right side of the street was packed with cars. i drove around for 20 minutes in my pj's before i found a spot.

so, tonight i'm trying to figure out where i want to watch the game. do i invite people over? or do i go to one of the local bars and cheer the team on with a hundred other raving lunatics? i'm leaning towards the bar idea...
