been getting a lot done, which i'm totally psyched about. usually i'm the procrastinator from hell! so far today i've studied for work, started my tax return, researched my credit report online (truecredit.com is fantastic, i do it every year), cleaned my office, shredded a box full of old bills and papers, paid bills, wrapped birthday gifts, did a sink full of dishes, and had lunch. this afternoon is more studying, cleaning out my storage unit (it's full of trash and boxes), and coffee at 4pm with one of my girlfriends. and i guess i should take the xmas tree down finally...

things with the b.f. have been okay. i think he can tell i'm really down about our situation -- he's been more snuggly lately, and has told me he loves me more often, which is wonderful -- but that doesn't change the fact that long-term, the odds are stacked aganst us. i really need to get us a counselor.

kitty has been home for 2 days since her surgery, and has yet to use the litterbox. i'm a bit freaked. the vet says to keep an eye on her and be patient, but i just want her to poo and stop giving me a heart attack!

...there's a ray of light!

i've been majorly stressing about my finances over the last couple of weeks. i was a little overzealous with the credit cards over the holidays, and then all the emergencies with the cats... i owe $2000 to the animal hospital alone. plus i have several weddings and baby showers coming up... i was seriously worried i wouldn't be able to go, because i wouldn't be able to afford gifts.

well, this afternoon i went on my company's employee website, to look up some payroll info for my taxes... and it turns out i am getting a bonus check any day now for the last quarter of 2003!!! i didn't think i was eligible for it, but it turns out i was... and so in a few days, i will be able to pay off most of the vet bill in one fell swoop!

life just got so much better.

so, i know it's not the end of january yet... but i'm in such a good mood now, i want to go over some of my 2004 goals and what i've accomplished on them...

1. take better care of my skin - i've always washed my face with soap, and last year my face started breaking out and always felt icky... this year, i started washing my face with a sensitive skin face wash instead, and it's made a world of difference. my skin is a million times softer, and i don't even notice my little wrinkles as much anymore.

2. eat better - except for a few occasions, i've stayed away from processed snack foods like chips and candy... i've cut way back on fast food, and when i do get something, it's no fries and i toss the bun. i'm drinking lots more water. i'm staying away from foods that hurt my stomach (bread, pasta, etc.) and have been eating lots more fruit and veggies. as a result, i've already lost 6 pounds.

3. exercise more - still need to work on this... the sunday morning dance class will be great for me, but i stopped due to finances (not an issue now). i'm going to go to the gym at least 2x/week, plus dancing at least 2x/week. that'll be a big step up.

4. get my finances in order - i'm cleaning up my credit report (experian sucks, they have so many errors on me), and adding more money to my 401k. i'd like to start saving for a condo.

wahooooo!!!!
