bbbrrrrrrrr...
Jan. 10th, 2004 08:41 ammy god, can it get any colder outside??? -10 degree wind chill, and it'll be like this all weekend. every winter, i think: WHY am i in boston, exactly? funny thing is, the heat in our apartment is STIFLING... the radiators are on full blast, and even though we've turned them down, it feels like summer in the apartment. i slept in a tank top, with the window open (did i mention the -10 wind chill?)... and actually slept in front of the window. as i type this, i am in a full sweat (although that could also be from some new medication i'm taking... damn side effects). 2 days ago, we had no heat, and slept with 2 down comforters on the bed to try to get warm... now we're in a sauna.
at least they fixed the elevator in our building. it sucks living on the top floor when you have no elevator for 2 weeks.
went home early yesterday due to a cold. i'd been nursing it for about a day, but combined with the bitter cold air yesterday, it was really hard to breathe. (i'm in and out of the car all day for work.) i hate taking 1/2 of a sick day the first week of the year, especially considering that this week was a bust (studied 2 days, my car had to go to the shop for a morning)... i actually was in my sales territory for a total of 2 days this week. eek. it also sucked because last night i was supposed to go to happy hour with some of the girls from my group... one of them is going through a major breakup, and we wanted to take her out to cheer her up. (long-term long-distance relationship... she flew out to see him right before new year's, and he dumped her the first night... she had to fly all the way back, after only being there a few hours. ugh.) so i missed a really important girls' night last night. hopefully i'll be better for tonight -- going to shoot pool with my mensa group, and supposedly a local reporter will be there to do a story on us. we'll see.
off to pop an advil and get under the covers...
