in the spirit of my last-minute shopping spree this afternoon, here is what i want for Xmas this year:

* a smaller ass
* "karaoke revolution" (awesome new PS2 game)
* for my cats to get healthy!
* a maid
* one of those litterboxes that automatically scoops
* a coffee table that lights up from the inside
* low-carb meals to be cooked for me for a year
* a coupon for 12 professional massages

that's pretty do-able, right?

okay, boys and girls, we're going to play a numbers game. i couldn't fit into my pants this morning, even though they were stretchy, because i've been pigging out the last few days on holiday treats i made. let's add up the calories in the treats, to see just how much i've eaten. okay?

ingredients for a pan of fudge meltaways:

1 egg - 80 calories
2 cups graham cracker crumbs - 1100 calories
1 cup coconut - 500 calories
2 cups confectioner's sugar - 960 calories
1/2 cup granulated sugar - 350 calories
1 square baker's chocolate - 140 calories
1/2 cup walnuts - 400 calories
1 tbsp. half and half - 20 calories
3/4 cup butter - 1200 calories

so the total number of calories for a pan of these goodies is...

4,750 calories!

i've eaten half the pan, so that makes a glorious 2,375 extra calories i've consumed in about 3 days. is there any wonder my scale says i've gained 2 pounds???

with the holiday shopping, that is. i went early this monring (9am) so i could beat the "last friday evening before xmas" rush. got some nice gifts for the folks who were hard to shop for... the wealthy couple who i was stressing over ended up being the "funnest" (most fun?). i got them a book called "all about us", it's a journal that you go through together and write down your memories of dating one another, likes and dislikes, etc. my b.f. and i have one, and we have yet to do it, but it was a hoot to read the questions. :) i also got them a really nice photo album with black pages, that you put those little photo corners on for your pictures. it's really elegant, and it'll be nice for them since they have some gorgeous pictures of their kids.

i also had bubble tea for the first time today. i've been wanting to try it for a while now to see what all the fuss is about... and i just don't think i'll ever get into it. i got black tea with milk and almond flavoring... which tastes good... but then every once in a while one of those black tapioca balls will pop into my mouth, and it just creeps me out. there's something about having chewy stuff in your drink that just seems inherently WRONG. and the balls don't even LOOK good in the clear cup... they look liike fish eyes. these black fish eyes in my bubble tea, staring out of the cup, mocking me. the huge fat pink straw is fun, but the rest just ain't my bag. oh my god -- a fad i can't get interested in!!! am i finally getting old???

top 5...

best shows on TV right now:

1. Law & Order
2. Will & Grace
3. Queer Eye for the Straight Guy
4. The Ellen DeGeneres Show
5. The Today Show

best beauty products:

1. Brown Sugar Body Scrub - Fresh (smells like iced tea and makes your skin feel soooo good)
2. Lash Out mascara - L'Oreal (the only stuff I'll use, my lashes are HUGE from this)
3. Liquid Lipstick - Wet & Wild ($1.50, smells like fruit punch, and every color is shimmery and amazing)
4. "Beach" perfume - Bobbi Brown (smells like Coppertone tanning oil... I relax every time I sniff it)
5. leave-in conditioner - Bumble & Bumble (only stuff that'll tame my curls with no greasies)
