swingchickie | sunday morning update

had a lovely time yesterday... K (girlfriend from work up in boston) is in town for 2 weeks to go through some training in my building, and she stayed the weekend so we could hang out. i didn't know how i was going to get through the day yesterday, between being emotionally down (see friday's post) and just being physically exhausted (i slept 8 hours and felt like i hadn't slept at all)... but we had a great time. K was so sweet... i asked her what she wanted to do (i had e-mailed her a list with a bunch of options)... her reply? "whatever makes you feel relaxed... i can see how tired and stressed you are, and i want this weekend to be about you." she is SUCH a good friend. she needed to do some laundry, so she brought it here to my place and threw it in one of the washers downstairs, and we got cheesesteaks in the little basement pizza place while we waited. we hung out here until late afternoon, and then i took her to south street so she could see all the, um, "colorful philly life". we went in all the places with sparkly jewelry or shoes or naughty clothing (lots of those), and then had dinner at the continental (the original one), and had pineapple martinis and nummy food and looked at all the beautiful people.

by the time we got out of dinner, it was around 9:30, and i was really torn... i'd wanted to take her to brownie's in ardmore to see "love seed mama jump", one of the best local philly bar bands, who i haven't seen live in over 10 years... but i was really fading energy-wise. thank god she was too, and so we bagged the band (bummer) and drove home so we could both get some sleep. i must have really needed it -- i went right to bed, and slept for almost 11 hours. whoa. today K's coming back over so we can spend the afternoon at the king of prussia mall... she's so excited to see how huge it is. :) i think tonight i'm just going veg out in my jammies and cuddle with angus. i need some time with my little dude.

i guess i should write back to that guy from yahoo too, the one who i turned down because i figured he'd be put off by my figure... he actually wrote back to me and said he didn't care, that he liked the energy in my profile and still wants to get to know me. hm, that was really nice. oh, and thanks to you guys who called/e-mailed me to see if i was ok after friday night's post... that meant a lot *smooch*. even though i may not be loved in the relationship sense, i know that i'm loved by my friends, and that means the world to me. you guys are awesome.
