new year's eve!

swingchickiethe new year's weekend is definitely different this year. we're not in the usual place, and it feels so strange... this year, instead of the event being in a hotel ballroom, we're in a convention center in the middle of nowhere. i swear, being in the big competition room feels like we're at a cheerleading competition. and the motel i'm in... eek... i'm expecting norman bates to drop by at any moment.
despite the primitive conditions, it's turning out to be a fun weekend. had some great dances last night, and caught up with a bunch of friends who i haven't seen in quite a long time. the only bummer will be tonight -- i'm going to have to run and hide from S, who is already gunning for me. last night he approached me and said, "i want you to be my midnight kiss tomorrow night." i was like, "uh, wha?..." and he replied, "yup, at exactly 12:00 i'm finding you." i was like, "i'll see you at 12:01 then." *cringe*
have a great new year's everyone, and i hope you kiss the person you really want to!
